Candles are an indispensable attribute of a New Year's table or home decor. But it is much more interesting to decorate the house with hand-decorated candles than the most common ones in shop candlesticks.
1. Multi-colored paper
It is very easy to decorate candles using special paper that is sold in art stores. Just choose paper with a small pattern (abstract or with a New Year theme), cut a strip 3-7 cm wide from the sheet (depending on the length of the candle), wrap the candle in paper and fix the decor with tape or glue. The decor of the candle can be complemented with a satin ribbon bow, a strip of bright braid or narrow lace.
2. Fabric and lace
Your candle will look very original and somewhat vintage if you use several types of fabrics and lace when decorating it. Find a piece of unbleached linen, fabric in a small cell or flower, a strip of narrow lace (it is important that it is not nylon, machine, but cotton, handmade). Wrap the candle in several layers of fabric, starting with a wide strip of rough fabric, ending with lace and narrow tape over the top. Secure the decor with clear glue. Sew a beautiful button on top or pin an unnecessary brooch.
3. Edible decorations
Cover each candle with cinnamon sticks or long colored candy, and tie a neat bow made of patterned braid, thick linen thread, satin ribbon or delicate lace on top. Such a candle will not only add coziness to your room, but will also exude a pleasant aroma. By the way, for decorating candles, you can also use small branches of a Christmas tree or pine, slices of dried lemon or orange, mint leaves, and other similar materials.
