The season of bitter frosts is coming, so it is necessary to warm up with the whole family, including your favorite pets and, of course, dolls. Take off your platform sandals from the toy, play boots on the dolls! Do not be afraid of this work - it is so exciting that it is difficult to stop.
It is necessary
- - fine 100% merino wool;
- - scissors;
- - a piece of plastic;
- - fine mosquito net;
- - plastic bumpy rug;
- - spray bottle with soapy water.
Instructions
Step 1
With wet felting, which you will do, the wool shrinks quite a lot, so make a plastic blank 2-3 more than the expected felt boot. Cut out a primitive shape.
Step 2
Tear off small strands from a skein of wool and place on top of the plastic part. Do all this on a pimpled oilcloth. Lay each layer perpendicular to the previous one, 3-4 layers are enough. Cover the fleece with a mosquito net and spray with soapy water from a spray bottle until the entire coat is soaked. Rub the fleece with your hands through the net until the whole ball is well absorbed by the soapy water.
Step 3
Carefully remove the mesh, turn the plastic mold over to the other side and fold the wool over to that side. Add layers of wool in the same way as you did before. Cover with a net and soak in soapy water, remove the net and fold over the wool; the mold should be completely wrapped in the wool and quite tight. Cut the uneven top of the boot with sharp scissors. You can cut off the excess only at this stage of felting; if you cut it off from the finished product, there is a risk that it will fall apart.
Step 4
Gently rub the form with the fur with your bare fingers or through the pimpled oilcloth. When the wool starts to fall off, becomes dense and will no longer creep, remove the blank.
Step 5
Continue to roll and rub in all directions, remember to add soapy water. Shape the felt boot with your fingers, rub it both inside and out. Gradually, the doll's boot will decrease in size - now you can rub it, putting toys on your leg. In the same way, play the second felt boot.
Step 6
Rinse both items and dry them with soft paper. The protruding wool fibers at the top of the bootleg can be tucked in with a special dry felting needle. If you do not have it, you can simply leave it like this or tuck it in with your fingers, stitching the edge with a decorative seam with a contrasting thread.
Step 7
Now proceed to the decorative finishing of doll boots. There is a place where fantasies can roam: beads and rhinestones, applique and embroidery, ready-made decorative elements in the form of small flowers, bows. From pieces of leather, you can make the soles of felt boots - hem them. So the original seasonal shoes for the doll are ready.
