A person regularly finds himself in situations where he must briefly and clearly tell about himself. An autobiography is often required when applying for a job, for certification, for issuing travel documents. Perhaps someone wants his children and grandchildren to know his life and era well. For them, your autobiography will become an invaluable family heirloom and historical source. Of course, an unofficial story about your life, both in content and in design, will differ from the one that you submit to the HR department or the attestation commission.

Instructions
Step 1
Find out with the organization where you will submit your autobiography, whether it is mandatory to write it by hand or if it can be typed on a computer. The color of the ballpoint pen refill is usually irrelevant. Some institutions may offer you a special form. If it was not given, write on a sheet of plain A4 paper. Where documents printed on a printer are accepted, they can also specify the design requirements: style and size of the font, spacing and the presence of margins of a certain size. Most often in such documents, Times New Roman, 14 point size, with one and a half spacing are used.
Step 2
Write your autobiography on a draft. Talk about yourself in a narrative, first-person, singular form. A handwriter needs a draft in order to arrange all events in chronological order and not to forget anything important. Enter your last name, first name and patronymic, place and date of birth. Indicate the place and time of study and work, positions held. Don't forget about promotions and rewards. Tell us about your marital status and immediate family members, indicating their names, patronymics, surnames, place of work, position and address.
Step 3
Check the data that you wrote with those indicated in the documents. The names of the professions in the diploma and work book may differ. This is especially important to remember for those who graduated from an educational institution for a long time. An educational institution can now also be called differently, you can give both the old and the new name.
Step 4
Get an autobiography. At the top in the middle of the line, write or type the title of the document. In computer typing, it is usually written in all capital letters. On the next line, write the word "I", put a comma, write the last name, first name, patronymic, where and when you were born. Rewrite everything you sketched on the draft. At the end, add the date of writing and your signature. Sometimes its decryption is required.
Step 5
Autobiography for posterity can be written in a more free form. It is not necessary to follow the procedure required in official papers. Tell us what your name is, where and when you were born and in what family. Remember not only your parents, but also your grandparents. If you know, indicate more distant relatives, who they were and where they lived. Spice up the narrative with a few memorable episodes from childhood and adolescence.
Step 6
Tell us what school you went to, who your friends and teachers were. Interesting moments from school life will greatly enliven the story. Likewise, tell us about the institute and how you first got to work. Your grandchildren will be interested to know who you worked, what you built or what parts you produced. The exact job titles are, of course, not required in this case.
Step 7
It is better to write such an autobiography by hand. For those who will read it, it is important that you did it. But you can also print. Choose the style that you like best. Print on A4 paper and place your creation in a folder. You can attach each sheet to a file.
Step 8
An unofficial autobiography can be supplemented with photographs. Scan them and paste them into the text if you do print it on a computer. Handwritten text can be placed in an album. Include photos there too. It is better to sign each one.
