Graffiti is the element that has changed the appearance of the street in many cities around the world. And until now, many are arguing about what to equate such inscriptions and drawings - to an act of vandalism or to real art. Indeed, despite the seeming simplicity, it is quite difficult to draw graffiti letters the first time. Therefore, before going out to draw on the streets, novice graphic artists spend hours of hard training at home, on an ordinary piece of paper.
Instructions
Step 1
First, decide what exactly you want to portray. Experienced artists recommend starting with your own name or, if it is too long, with a nickname. The ideal number of letters for a novice graphist is 2-4 characters. More letters will be more difficult to master. Take an ordinary sheet of paper, preferably in a cage (it will be easier to give volume to the symbols on it) and write what you want to depict in graffiti in the simplest letters. Remember to leave a small distance between them.
Step 2
Now your task is to give them volume. To do this, pick up your pencil or other writing object (it must be thick enough) and paint yours, giving them extra power. It's okay to copy someone's style that you may have seen before.
Step 3
Practice over and over again, placing the letters further and then closer to each other. This will help you get a feel for how to work with the space. And to better assimilate the material, draw each letter separately. Also, keep in mind that graffiti is an art, learning which you can copy other works. Therefore, you should at least sometimes try to copy the work of other writers. However, while learning and copying other people's work, you should not pass them off as your own. This is very discouraged in the world of graffiti lovers.
Step 4
When depicting symbols, remember that graffiti on the walls does not use icons common on the Internet. These are @,, -, =, and others like them. Also, tune in that the first time you are unlikely to succeed, but this is not a disaster. Workouts should be mandatory, and not once or twice a week, but regularly, every day. And one more rule: until you have finished writing at least one inscription on paper, do not even think to go with a spray can to the wall. After all, based on the philosophy of graffiti, walls do not like unprepared improvisation.
