Step 1
For work, it is better to use glue produced in the form of a pencil. Liquid glue will protrude outside the applique, making the work look messy. When working with a pencil and a ruler, try to do it as accurately as possible, do not press hard on the pencil in order to be able to erase the incorrectly drawn line.
Step 2
Take very thick paper or, conversely, thin cardboard and cut out the base of the future postcard from it. Fold the card in half like a small booklet.
Step 3
Put the card aside for now and think about what motif you would like to depict on it. Try to imagine the tastes of the birthday man, think about what he might like.
Step 4
Cut out the details of the future applique from paper. It can be candles, balloons, flowers, hearts, numbers and even a photograph, no one limits your imagination. Glue the details to the card for a cute appliqué. For more effect, you can trace the glued parts with a thin black felt-tip pen.
Step 5
Do not forget to leave space on the front of the postcard for the inscription in the style of "Happy Birthday!" or "Happy Anniversary!" Use a pencil, felt-tip pen, or bright colors to write the lettering.
Step 6
But the basis of your postcard will not be its appearance, but the words that you write inside, congratulating the birthday man on his holiday. Do not get off with general phrases, make it clear that your congratulations come from the bottom of your heart. Do not forget to subscribe to congratulations. It is quite possible that, being moved, the birthday person will keep the postcard for many years and re-read it again and again later.
