Knitted pullovers and rounded neck jackets look very feminine. They can emphasize beautiful shapes and disguise some of the flaws in appearance. By changing the depth of the neckline and decorating the planks in different ways, you can create products in different styles. Learning to knit a U-neck is a snap.

It is necessary

  • Two working needles No. 4, 5
  • Circular knitting needles # 3
  • Auxiliary spoke
  • Sewing thread and needle for sewing a chain stitch
  • Yarn

Instructions

Step 1

Start knitting from the front. Find the optimal U-neck depth in advance. For example, when knitting a size 38 pullover, you need to start making a classic cut of medium depth about 60 cm from the bottom of the knitted part.

Step 2

Set aside (in the last purl row) untied the desired number of loops. In our case, there will be 16. These should be the central loops of the front, you need to string them on the auxiliary knitting needle.

Step 3

Knit further with the main working pattern, first the left, then the right side of the front of the pullover to the shoulders. In doing so, you will need to smoothly round the U-neck. To do this, close the loops in every second row:

• first 4 loops at once;

• then 2 times 3 loops;

• 1 time 2 loops

• and 3 times in the loop.

Step 4

Tie U-neck to shoulder line and close all sts.

Step 5

Start knitting the back of the pullover. The size of the U-cut on the back of the garment will depend on how deep you want to open your back. You can knit the same back neckline as in front. However, in classic models, the rear neckline is always raised above the front one by about 2 cm.

Step 6

Leave open on the auxiliary needle the loops of the center of the needles (in our example there are 28 of them, at a distance of 62 cm from the bottom of the future pullover). Tie the products, rounding off its cutout in every 2nd row of the cutout like this:

• first 6 loops at once;

• times - 2 loops

• and fold one loop.

Step 7

Close the hinges and start assembling the parts. When you sew the back and front of the garment on the sides and complete the shoulder seams, you can start knitting the binding.

Step 8

Cast on the circular needles evenly on each side of the neck, including those remaining on the auxiliary needles. We'll have 140 stitches in total. Tie several rows with 1x1 elastic and close the loops according to the knitting pattern (front-back).
