Before you start drawing the tail, you should carefully study the photographs of the animal being depicted. It is best to start mastering drawing a tail with simple, typical images. Try copying pictures of cats with their tails in different positions. The tails of short-haired animals should appear smooth along the outer contours, and the fur can be represented by shading. Fluffy tails require an emphasis on volume. To do this, in the outer lines, you need to draw frequent sharp notches - this will create the same fluffy effect. The volume of the tail can be emphasized using transverse semicircular hatching.
