Step 1
Drawing a little mermaid is very simple, you just need to be patient and practice a little. First, draw a normal female silhouette with a pencil. The "top" of the mermaid will be no different from the torso of any girl, but in order to get her wonderful tail, you will have to work a little. First draw the outline of the tail. Like human legs, it should be slightly longer than the body.
Step 2
After the mermaid's tail is drawn, it should be shaded under the scales. Then erase everything that is outside the contour of the drawing. Thus, the silhouette of the sea girl will be ready. It remains only to give it expressiveness. To do this, draw a flare on the tail (drag the eraser along one side of the tail, following the line of its bend). If everything worked out correctly, it will seem more voluminous.
Step 3
Next, draw the lower part of the tail, that is, the fin itself (its base is a triangle). Shade its inner part with vertical lines. Use the eraser again to create highlights on the fin. Repeating the contour of the bend of the tail with light movements of the hand, go through the eraser first on one side of the fin, and then on the other.
Step 4
Your mermaid is now almost ready. It remains to give her tail a little more personality, expressiveness and detail. To do this, paint over the tail with the color that you decide to choose with a colored pencil or paints. Gold or silver looks best. By the way, these glitter paints are quite easy to obtain today. In the place where the highlights are drawn, the paint should be slightly lighter (it is enough to slightly blur the main color with water). You can paint the tail scales with a thin brush and darker paint. If the tail is golden, use a dark brown paint. For a silvery tail, a dark blue color may work. One last thing: don't forget to draw thin lines on the fin to emphasize its curvature.
