Sometimes, in the process of knitting, needlewomen have to pick up the loops. This is necessary to expand the canvas, knit various additional details and shapes. For successful work, a beginner just needs to learn a few basic techniques for adding additional work loops. They are carried out inside or along the edges of the knitting. Practice on a sample first, and then you can start working on the main product.
It is necessary
- - two straight or circular knitting needles;
- - yarn.
Instructions
Step 1
Make yarn overs inside the knitted fabric to evenly add the required number of loops. The same number of working loops must be left between each thrown loop. From the inside out, all obtained yarns are recommended to be knitted like crossed loops in order to avoid small ugly holes on the finished product.
Step 2
Try chaining air loops over a specially made hole inside the work (for example, to knit a mitten finger or buttonhole). After knitting a row to the beginning of the lower hole, twist the working thread in a loop and put it on the right knitting needle. Tighten the resulting loop so that a hole does not form between the regular and the thrown-over thread arches in the future.
Step 3
Replace yarns with regular loops - as needed, they can be knitted in an amount of two or more from one loop. This is possible with alternations: front loop, purl, again front, etc. Such additions are clearly visible on the front side of the canvas, so it is recommended to make them around the edges. In addition, knitting more than two additional stitches from one bow in the middle of the fabric can be used for embossed patterns (such as "bumps").
Step 4
Practice adding stitches by pulling between the stitches of the lower row. Using the right knitting needle, pull the working thread through this jumper. You will knit the resulting loop as a crossed one, and the knitting will look even and neat.
Step 5
Knit the first stitch of the front row and leave it on the working needle. Then make an additional one out of it - crossed. You can also use another way to expand the knitting: on the left side, knit an edge and throw on the required number of air loops. On the right, you can expand the work with broaches or yarns.
