Artifacts are a game cliché that no major project can do without. From game to game, they can change shape and name, but always remain an irreplaceable "gadget" at high levels of difficulty.
Instructions
Step 1
Determine what plays the role of an artifact in this game. It is very possible that a similar role will be played by items that are more suitable for the game setting. Nevertheless, their value does not change from this, as well as the classic methods of mining. Most likely, shards of technology (for fantasy games), ancient magic items (for fantasy), or various genetic modifications (for cyberpunk) will be considered artifacts.
Step 2
Destroy mobs more thoroughly. As a rule, the weakest artifacts can be obtained from ordinary opponents: they drop out with some percentage of probability. More often they will fall out of the "unique" modifications of enemies. In Diablo 2, you could meet not just the "Devil", but the "Evil Poisonous Underground Devil", which differed in color and the number of lives. A similar system is used in many games today, and therefore the principle of dropping (falling from the enemy) artifacts is similar.
Step 3
Complete side quests. The unique items that you will be given for completing differ in that they are provided in advance by the developers. As a rule, this has only advantages: excellent balance, high selling price and high performance. Such gifts can be explained by the fact that the authors want to encourage players who carefully study all the offered content.
Step 4
Study the map of the area carefully. If there is an opportunity to dig (see "Fable" and "Heroes of might and Magic"), then look for maps and any clues on where to dig. If the game is built on the principles of "open world", then try to explore additional locations to which the main storyline does not lead you (see "Mass Effect", third-party planets). After all, for some reason, these locations exist.
Step 5
An MMORPG is characterized by throwing out artifacts from especially evil monsters (players even unite in groups to organize raids) and when completing quests. However, the general mechanics of such games presupposes the absence of two absolutely identical artifacts, and several times less chance of falling out of something worthwhile. But, the involvement of many people in the game compensates for this, giving rise to another way to get artifacts - by exchanging with other players on the exchanges. Or buying valuables on forums for real money.
