In the arsenal of home craftsmen, there are often several types of machines. When making home-made devices and models, you have to craft all kinds of devices that allow you to bring the product to the perfect look. For example, in order to make miniature wood products, a table sander is very useful.
It is necessary
Board, garden tool handle, four ball bearings, electric motor, rubber belt, pulley, emery wheel, self-tapping screws, fasteners
Instructions
Step 1
To make a miniature grinding machine, you will need: a 20 mm thick board, a garden tool handle with a diameter of 50 mm, four ball bearings, an electric motor, a rubber belt, a pulley, an emery wheel, screws, bolts, nuts.
Step 2
Make two sidewalls of the sander. Select the dimensions of the walls based on the parameters of the parts you have; first of all, it depends on the size of the electric motor and belt. Bearing holes are also individually selected according to their size.
Step 3
From a standard furniture corner screed, make a device for changing the sanding paper tension. Bend the corner with a hammer and screw it with a bolt and nut to a semicircular base made from a board.
Step 4
Using an annular cutter, make holes for the ball bearings in the side walls of the machine. From the outside, close the bearing attachment points with plywood plugs, having previously cut holes for the shaft in them.
Step 5
On a lathe, carve a shaft out of a garden tool handle. Select the dimensions of the shaft taking into account the height of the side walls of the machine, and its length should be equal to the width of the device. Attach two ball bearings and a pulley to the edges of the shaft. When doing this, keep in mind that the length of the inner groove on the roller should be equal to the width of the ring of the sanding paper used for sanding.
Step 6
Place an electric motor on the opposite end of the machine. To ensure safety in handling the machine, it is recommended to cover the motor with a protective cover, which is conveniently made of thin plywood.
Step 7
After assembling the main parts of the sander into a single whole, install an emery ring on the shafts. When gluing the ring, cut off its upper end at an acute angle (diagonally) so that when grinding parts, the possibility of the workpiece catching on the joint is excluded.
