Step 1
Prepare the materials you need for the job. Before you start drawing a seal, look on the Internet for photographs of these animals and pay attention to the structure of their body. With a simple pencil, start sketching. It is best to place the sheet of paper horizontally. Also choose whether you are going to draw a stylized, "cartoonish" drawing or reproduce exactly all the details.
Step 2
Draw a small oval that looks like a hen's egg - this is the seal's breast. Then sketch a small circle on this "egg" - the head of the animal. After that sketch out the tail of the mammal. It can be curved or located straight (if the animal is lying on the shore of a reservoir, for example), or has a wavy shape. At the end of the body, mark the tail with a triangle.
Step 3
Start drawing the seal in detail. On the head, sketch out two round eyes and a muzzle in the form of a small circle. On it, draw a nose in the form of a triangle. From it draw the line of the mouth and outline the "cheeks" near the nose, like a cat, only more. Not far from the head, place the flippers, they are slightly larger than the head, end with an extended plane, on which mark the phalanges of the "fingers".
Step 4
Seals do not have hind legs; in the process of evolution, they turned into a tail, which helps when moving in water. Divide the tail blank into two parts, draw phalanges on it, give the shape of a fin, an elongated triangle. Think up and draw a background - the ocean, coastline, zoo, etc. Erase the auxiliary lines with the eraser.
Step 5
Choose - will you finish the drawing with a pencil or take up the paints. When working on a drawing in graphics, pay attention to shading according to the shape of the body, outline its directions before starting the process. Work on the animal's face, completely hatch the eyes, leaving a small highlight in them. If the seal is in the marine environment, then it is appropriate to leave reflections on its body with an eraser.
Step 6
When working with paints, start filling the picture with the background. Then indicate the color of the animal with a common spot. Next, work on the shadow by changing the brushes and mixing the base color with darker shades. After drying, refine the foreground and the pattern on the body of the seal.
