In order to complement the rabbit's carnival costume with a spectacular detail, to ensure the character's recognition, you will need a mask worn on the head or covering the face. You can make a rabbit mask with your own hands from scrap materials, connecting children to the creative process.
It is necessary
- - multi-colored paper;
- - cardboard;
- - scissors;
- - glue;
- - stapler;
- - disposable tableware;
- - markers or paints.
Instructions
Step 1
The rabbit mask made on the basis of a cardboard frame looks most impressive. To prepare the frame, you will need one strip corresponding to the size of the child's head circumference, and two strips equal to half this length. A long strip is connected into a ring, two short strips are glued to it crosswise to form a kind of "hat". A layer of thin, previously crumpled white paper is applied to the "hat" -frame, giving the future head of the rabbit a rounded shape. On the lower edge of the frame, the paper is fixed with a stapler or fixed with glue.
Step 2
At the top of the “hat”, small slots are made into which long ears cut out of paper are inserted. To prevent the ears from looking flat, they are folded in half vertically, and then inserted into the slots with the fold outward. On the seamy side of the frame, the ears are fixed with adhesive tape or with glue. Parts imitating rabbit cheeks, eyes, nose, tongue are glued in the center of the mask. You can paint the surface of the cheeks with black dots and glue on thin strips of paper representing a mustache.
Step 3
It is equally easy to make a rabbit mask out of white plastic disposable plates. On one of the plates, they mark the holes for the eyes and nose of the child, carefully cut them with small scissors, draw the necessary details with a felt-tip pen: eyelids, eyelashes, mustache. From another plate, two identical semicircles are cut out, imitating rabbit ears. Both parts are attached to the first plate with a stapler, and their inner surface is depicted on the ears with a pink felt-tip pen. An elastic band or strings are attached to the side parts of the mask.
Step 4
In order to make a slightly convex rabbit mask, not a flat one, you will need a square sheet of paper. To obtain a nose line, the sheet is folded in half vertically, to obtain an eye line - in half horizontally. Holes for the eyes are cut out on the horizontal line, and six cuts are made on the workpiece: two of them are along the upper edge of the mask above the middle of the eyes, two are along the lateral edges of the mask in the center of the eyes, two more are in the center of the lower edge of the mask, with a size equal to the width nose.
Step 5
The upper cuts are joined and glued like darts, which gives the mask a slight bulge on the forehead. The lower cuts are brought towards each other, bending the formed rectangle inward. The seam is glued and masked with a triangle cut out of pink paper, depicting a rabbit nose. The side cuts, which diverged to the sides during the formation of the forehead, are closed with triangular cardboard inserts into which an elastic band is threaded. Long ears are glued to the upper part of the blank, the mask is supplemented with the necessary details using a felt-tip pen or applique.
