Cold porcelain is a plastic material, similar to polymer clay or plasticine, from which you can mold almost anything. It is sold in art stores, but the price of cold porcelain is quite high. You can save a lot if you cook it yourself, especially since the ingredients that make up it are quite affordable.

It is necessary

  • - corn starch - 1 cup;
  • - PVA glue - 1 glass;
  • - lemon juice - 2 tablespoons;
  • - olive oil - 2 tablespoons;
  • - petroleum jelly or glycerin - 1 tablespoon.

Instructions

Step 1

Knead to make cold porcelain. Pour PVA glue into a glass pan. Then add olive oil, freshly squeezed lemon juice, petroleum jelly or glycerin to it. Mix all ingredients very thoroughly with a wooden jar until smooth. With constant stirring to avoid clumps, add cornstarch to the mixture.

Step 2

Cook the dough. To do this, set the maximum power and cooking time on the microwave for 30 seconds. Place the glass pan with the prepared dough in the microwave. After 30 seconds, take it out and mix the mass thoroughly, do it with a wooden jar clockwise. Then put the dough to simmer in the microwave again, also for half a minute at maximum power. Stir the warm dough thoroughly again.

Step 3

After cooking, a crust may form on the surface of the dough. Remove it carefully and discard it without regret. If solid particles get into the mass, this will have a bad effect on the quality of the porcelain.

Step 4

Next, you need to boil the dough again, but this time reducing the power to 600. Place the pan in the microwave again for 30 seconds, then stir the dough and repeat the procedure again. Thus, you will need to cook the cold porcelain dough 4 times in the microwave, the whole procedure will take no more than five minutes. A well-cooked mass should turn out to be viscous and curl on a wooden spatula.

Step 5

Lubricate your hands and the surface on which you will work with a greasy cream. To do this, you can use your regular face or hand cream. Place the mixture on a work surface and knead like an ordinary shortbread dough. While the mass is hot, do it through a towel. After the dough has cooled, knead with your hands. The more thoroughly you knead it, the more plastic the cold porcelain will be.

Step 6

The material is ready, you can start modeling immediately after its preparation, or save cold porcelain for further work with it. Lubricate the cling film with a fat cream, wrap the plastic mass in it, put everything in a plastic container for storing food. Store cold china in the refrigerator.
