Collar-collar can decorate any knitted product: it is very comfortable, soft and stylish. In addition, you can knit it in various variations: high, small, wide, etc. This collar will help protect your throat from cold and wind.
It is necessary
- - a skein of yarn of the same shade that the sweater or jacket is knitted with
- - knitting needles number 5
- - scissors
- - a needle with a large eye
- - tailor's pins
Instructions
Step 1
Rewind the yarn into a ball, folding the yarn into 2-3 weaves. This way, you will get a thicker thread, which will make the collar warm, soft, and also allow you to better fit it around the edge of the neck of the finished product.
Step 2
So that the edge of the future collar does not stretch, use cotton thread for the set of the first row. It needs to be folded with the main thread, and after the set, knit several rows.
Step 3
Cast on the knitting needles 55-60 loops (depending on the desired width of the future collar). Knit together with the auxiliary thread five to six rows with the front loops, then cut the auxiliary thread and knit another row with the front loops.
Step 4
Continue knitting with an English elastic band. It will allow you to shape the volume of the clamp so that it can be laid out on any neck size. But it didn’t stretch.
Step 5
There are three different ways to knit an English elastic, the one shown in this description will make the knitted fabric even and dense. To knit an English elastic, it is necessary to alternate the front and back loops in the first row. In all subsequent rows, knit as the loops "look". This means that the purl loops are knitted with the purl, and the front loops are knitted with the front ones. A distinctive feature of all subsequent rows is that the front loop should be knitted next to below, i.e. grab the thread through the loop of the previous row (and not yarn over, as in a regular English elastic band).
Step 6
In this way, knit until the length of the knitted fabric reaches 60 centimeters. After that, weave the cotton auxiliary thread back to the main thread and knit five to six rows, and then close all the loops. By the way, if you use grass yarn to knit a collar-collar, then the collar will turn out to be especially soft and comfortable to lay out.
Step 7
Sew the fabric along the first and last rows of loop-to-loop.
Step 8
Moisten the finished collar with water and leave to dry completely. This will give it the necessary shrinkage and facilitate the further operation of the product.
Step 9
Use tailor's pins to pin the tied collar to the edge of the neckline, spreading it evenly around the edge. Then sew the collar to the neckline.
Step 10
Iron the seam with a warm iron, try to do this only at the ends of the loops, so as not to spoil the finished product.
