A shirt-front collar is a great alternative to an ordinary scarf. Knit it much faster and, perhaps most importantly, your neck will always be closed. Unlike a scarf, the shirt front will not buckle and will not come out from under the outerwear.
It is necessary
- - 50-100 g of woolen yarn of medium thickness;
- - circular needles No. 2, 5-3.
Instructions
Step 1
Cast on circular needles 96-100 stitches. Close knitting in a circle and knit 1x1 or 2x2 elastic. The length should be such that the finished collar can be folded in half.
Step 2
Divide the knitting into four equal parts. Mark the extreme loops of each part with a thread of a contrasting color.
Step 3
Add stitches on either side of these stitches in every second row. The main fabric can be knitted with any dense pattern. For example, alternate knit 4 and purl 1. Knit in this way up to the shoulders. Try on the shirt periodically.
Step 4
Knitting can be finished with the usual closure of the loops, you can tie on the cloves or finish with openwork knitting. Crochet the edge so that it does not bend.
Step 5
Another way to knit a bib collar. Measure the circumference of your neck. Tie a 10x10 centimeters sample. Calculate the number of loops in one centimeter. Multiply this amount by your neck measurement. The result obtained is the number of loops to set.
Step 6
Cast on the correct size knitting needles and use an English elastic to knit a rectangle with a length equal to the height of your neck, multiplied by two.
Step 7
Fold this rectangle in half. Sew with a seam over the edge. Sew 2 buttons symmetrically on both sides. Make a loop from the leather cord and sew on one side over the button. This collar will be very warm.
Step 8
If you need to knit a shirt front for a child, then you should take into account that children really do not like to put things over their heads. Knit it as described in steps # 1-4, but use straight knitting needles for knitting and knit not round, but in forward and backward directions.
Step 9
For the placket, cast on the loops along the cuts in the middle of the front (the fastener can also be positioned on the back). Knit 2 centimeters with 1x1 elastic, and on the right side, make holes for the fastener.
Step 10
Sew flat buttons on the left side of the placket.
