It is necessary

  • - Sculptural plasticine;
  • - knife;
  • - paper;
  • - glue;
  • - gauze;
  • - paper-glue;
  • - paints;
  • - brushes;
  • - varnish.

Instructions

Step 1

Make a separate shape for each body part of Santa Claus. Knead a piece of sculptural clay in your hands. Roll it into a ball that matches the size of the toy's head. sculpt its approximate shape (along with the hat), without making the nose and beard.

Step 2

Blind the body in a sheepskin coat from a larger piece. Then make hands in mittens and legs in boots separately. Cut each part in half lengthwise with a knife. You should have two completely symmetrical halves.

Step 3

Tear the thin white paper into 1 x 1 cm pieces. Divide them into two equal pieces. You will moisten one pile with water, the other with PVA glue. Then cut into 2 x 2 cm pieces of medical bandage or gauze.

Step 4

Begin to cover the first part with paper (leave the cut area of the part open). The first layer should be lightly soaked in water. The second is laid out with paper, dipped in a container with glue for a few seconds. The third is again made of plain paper. Collect six of these layers. Place the seventh pieces of gauze soaked in glue. This will help strengthen the toy. Make another paper layer on top. Set this part aside and proceed with the next.

Step 5

When all the elements are dry (1-2 days), complete the work on their shape with paper glue. Form small details out of the mass - Santa's cheeks, lips and nose, the trim of his cap and boots, a belt buckle. Leave the parts to dry for another couple of days.

Step 6

Remove the paper blanks from the forms and connect the halves using thin strips of paper glued along the "seam" line. Give the hero a beard using the same paper glue. Apply it with a mass and let it dry for about five minutes. Then use a toothpick to mark the texture of the part, drawing wavy lines along the entire length.

Step 7

Cover the toy (except for the beard) with a layer of white acrylic paint and let it dry.

Step 8

Paint Santa Claus with acrylic based on his photographs. Use a thin synthetic brush to draw small elements.

Step 9

Cover the craft with matte varnish.
