Russian robber costume
If you need to create a grotesque robber costume for a school play or role play, you can use the simplest tools. Take a jute or canvas sack made from unbleached burlap and cut holes in it for your hands and head.
A rope will serve as a belt for such an improvised shirt. You can put on a shirt on a naked body. You can sew pants or ports from burlap or use ready-made, purchased at the store of workwear. You will have to redo the finished pants. Choose the simplest model made from canvas. Replace the rubber band, if any, with a rope. At the ankles on the legs, make several holes, and also thread the strings through them, which will tighten the legs. If you manage to get bast shoes, then these shoes are quite suitable for the robber. If there are no bast shoes, it does not matter, the robber may be barefoot. You can add additional flavor to the robber suit by sewing on it several colored patches. Moreover, make the seam rough and noticeable, pick up a contrasting fabric, for example, white with red polka dots. An earring in the ear will also do the trick. Make it out of a curtain ring and secure with a flesh-colored plaster (piercing is optional). Arm the robber. Make the knife large and noticeable for him, preferably a curve. You can carve it out of wood and paint it with "silver" or purchase a suitable one in the children's toys department. The robber's favorite weapon is the club. Find a suitable branch in the forest, finish it with a knife, pickle it with a dark stain and varnish it.
Outrageous Outlaw Outfit

This character will need similar trousers, but made of high-quality cloth. Put on him a fur coat from "someone else's shoulder", but also on a naked body. An inside-out sheepskin coat is also suitable. Instead of a rope, you need to gird it with a sash. Make a sash out of a bright shawl or roll it out of a piece of kumach. The experienced robber's shoes are the same as those of the beginner, but there are also boots obtained by his trade. He wears boots on a rope thrown over his neck, or on a stick over his shoulder. He can choose boots of any size and any style, even for women, since these are not shoes, but a trophy and a source of pride for a robber. The hardened robber also has a special weapon. This is a brush. Take a tennis ball and stick it into a sock. Tie the neck of the sock with a clothesline, measure from the knot a piece of rope as long as your forearm and cut. Attach a loose piece of rope to a wooden handle, also as long as your forearm. The brush is ready. A Russian robber is supposed to have a beard and mustache. If the actor does not have his own facial hair, then you will have to purchase a suitable wig for him. But if the character is grotesque, you can use a piece of fur, for example, from an old collar, secured with an elastic band.
Rogue from an oriental tale
A robber from oriental tales does not need a jacket or shirt; he walks with a naked torso. Moreover, his work is nighttime, and the robe only gets in the way. But he needs shalvars or ports, analogous to the ports of the Slavic robber. But you can make or purchase shalwar for him from bright fabric. You will need a turban for the chieftain or a skullcap for the gang members. If you can learn how to tie a turban yourself, then it is best to buy skullcaps. An ordinary member of the gang of eastern robbers need not wear shoes. But for the chieftain, you will have to purchase shoes that look like oriental ones, with long, up-bent toes. Oriental robbers wear a ring in the nostril. You can also blindfold the chieftain. The weapons of these characters are crooked knives.
British robber costume
British robbers, aka free shooters, are armed with bows. Long cloth jackets with leather belts are more suitable for them. It will be easiest for you to find pants that fit them, since these are leggings. All the clothes of the free shooters are green.
