You can make a model of a tetrahedron from a variety of materials. One of the most affordable options is to glue it out of paper. In this case, glue is not always required, since self-adhesive paper is also suitable for such purposes.

It is necessary

  • - paper for building a scan;
  • - paper for the model;
  • - ruler;
  • - pencil;
  • - protractor;
  • - scissors;
  • - a computer with AutoCAD.

Instructions

Step 1

Start by building a flat pattern. If you are going to glue a tetrahedron from ordinary thick paper, you can do a scan directly on it. For self-adhesive paper, it is better to draw a pattern, as it is done in classic modeling. You can also use a computer with AutoCAD or any other graphic editor that allows you to build regular polygons.

Step 2

Build an equilateral triangle. If you are doing this on paper, then draw a line segment equal to the edge of the tetrahedron. Use a protractor to set aside 60 ° angles from the ends. Draw straight lines through the obtained points until they intersect.

Step 3

On each side of the existing triangle, build exactly the same ones. Each side of the original triangle will also be a side of the other. In the same way, set aside angles of 60 ° from the ends of the segment, but in the direction from the already drawn figure. Draw straight lines through the points obtained until they intersect. You should have a structure of four equal equilateral triangles.

Step 4

In order for the resulting scan to be glued together, make allowances for three triangles. Add 1 cm to one side along its entire length. Rotate the shape clockwise and make the same allowance for the other face, and then for the third. Cut out the flat pattern. If necessary, trace it onto another paper.

Step 5

Bend the flat pattern along all the lines so that you have a pyramid. Fold the allowances inward. Trim corners if necessary. Apply glue to the seam allowances and press them against the inner sides of adjacent faces, aligning the line between the triangle and the seam allowance with the free side of the adjacent triangle. If the tetrahedron is made of self-adhesive paper, it is better to scratch the lines, then bend the shape and press the allowance to the edge.
