A rug made of pompons is very easy to make with your own hands. Moreover, such a rug will be a wonderful interior decoration.
It is very easy to make a rug from pompons. For such a craft, you will need threads for making pompons (almost any thread is suitable - woolen, cotton, synthetic, the main thing is that they are not very thin), a net for making the base of a rug (you can take a rigid construction mesh or just a large canvas for embroidery), accessories for making pom-poms (depending on the manufacturing method, these can be cardboard or plastic mugs, a fork, as well as special devices that are sold in a store for needlewomen).
The process of making a rug from pom poms:
1. Making pom-poms (the photo shows the production of pom-poms using a special semicircular device purchased in the store, but there are other methods that I have already described in earlier articles). When tying the pompom, leave the threads about 7-10 cm long. The number of pom-poms depends on the size of the rug, but if there are not enough of them, you can simply cut the edge of the net, thus reducing the size of the rug. If there are too many pom-poms, make a second rug out of pom-poms or trim the edge of a sofa cushion or blanket with pom-poms.
Helpful hint: the most comfortable to use will be a rug made of pompons of the same size.
2. Cut out a blank of a mat of the desired shape from the net (round, square, flower-shaped - if desired).
3. Tie pom-poms to the mesh tightly to each other. From pompons, you can lay out a multi-colored pattern (use any pattern for knitting jacquard), stripes, cells, or just make a colorful rug.
Helpful Hint: A pom-pom rug is a great way to use up leftover thread if you have accumulated a lot of thread. It is usually difficult to figure out what to spend tiny different-colored balls on, and if you make such a rug out of them, you get a bright, unusual, but very cozy thing.
