Do you have a lot of torn tights and stockings? Don't rush to throw them away - make a practical doormat. It perfectly cleans shoes from moisture, dirt and dust, it is easy to clean with a vacuum cleaner. The mat can be machine washed or hand washed if necessary. Well, when it becomes unusable or tired, you can throw it away, tying a new one, even more beautiful, to replace it.

It is necessary

  • - elastic tights and stockings;
  • - Crochet hook;
  • - sharp scissors.

Instructions

Step 1

Pick up raw materials for the future rug. You will need worn-out elastic tights or stockings. You can choose tights of different colors - then the rug will be striped. The manufacture of one small product will require at least 10 pairs.

Step 2

Cut off the thickened pantyhose belt and the decorative elastic bands of the stockings. Use sharp scissors to cut the canvas in a spiral to get a tape 2-3 cm wide. Roll the resulting tape into a ball.

Step 3

Start knitting. Take a thick hook, cast on six air loops and lock them into a ring. Continue knitting in a circle, doing single crochet stitches. To increase the size of the circle, and the canvas lay flat, knit two columns from one loop of the previous row. Make sure that the edges of the rug do not lie down with folds - if this happens, knit two posts from every other loop.

Step 4

When you have finished one ribbon, tie the other to the end and continue knitting. You can knit a solid color rug or decorate it with concentric circles. To knit them, attach a strip of a different color to the finished ribbon. When finished, cut off the thread, tie it and mask the knot by tucking it under the canvas.

Step 5

If the tights are over, and the size of the resulting rug does not suit you, you can continue knitting with strips of any elastic fabric. Slice an old diver, T-shirt, or other thin jersey into ribbons.

Step 6

Instead of a round carpet, you can make a rectangular one. To create this shape, tie a chain of air loops. Its length is equal to the length of the future product. Knit in single crochet stitches. The rectangular model can be one-color, two-tone or striped - it all depends on the color of the tights you have. When finished, tie the edge of the rug with single crochet posts - this will make its edges smoother.
