Instructions

Step 1

When loosening the product, wind the thread not in a ball, but in skeins (skeins) - for this use a plank, two legs of an inverted stool, or any flat rigid object. As a result, you should get a skein of thread in the form of a donut, which you need to grab with a thread in two or three places so that the yarn does not get tangled and the skein does not fall apart. After that, wash the skeins (you can use a softener-conditioner) and hang to dry, tying a load from below. As a load, you can use everything that will be at hand - scissors, heavy beads, and so on. After the yarn is dry, roll up regular balls of it.

Step 2

If the thread is still wavy in the skein, pin a skein of yarn on an ironing board and steam through cheesecloth or a thin cloth with an iron. However, with this method, the thread can flatten and acquire unnecessary shine.

Step 3

One of the quickest and most effective ways to straighten yarn is to pass the yarn over steam. To do this, use a kettle: thread a thread through the hole for the lid and pull it through the spout of the kettle. Boil water in a kettle, leave to simmer over low heat and begin to wind the thread into a ball. Do not make the balls too tight - this can stretch the steamed thread, the woolen yarn loses its elasticity, and products made from such threads will not be fluffy and soft.

Step 4

Another way to straighten the yarn is to leave the balls of yarn in the steam bath. Place the rolled yarn in a colander and place the colander in a pot of boiling water. Leave the threads to steam on low heat for 20-30 minutes, then dry the balls well (depending on the size of the balls, drying takes different time, but at least a day).

Step 5

You can also use ordinary plastic bottles to straighten the thread. Wrap the yarn around the bottle, soak in water for a few minutes, dry. After that, wind the yarn straight from the bottle into a ball.
