Clean wool wears out faster, besides, wool products are prickly, "bite" and can shrink a lot after washing. Yarn with the addition of acrylic is softer and does not shrink. But wool has its own advantages: wool has natural twists or waves in each individual hair, which give the yarn its elasticity and resilience. This yarn is stretched and then returned to its original length. Other fibers do not have these qualities, so clothes knitted from them often stretch.

Pay attention to the information on the labels, it may indicate what is better to use when knitting with this particular yarn - knitting or crocheting. Strongly twisted threads when knitting can skew the product and make it more rigid, so it is better to choose such threads for crocheting.
Step 3
If you need to combine two yarns according to the instructions, select the threads that are most suitable for each other in thickness and texture. Choose a bouclé thread if you need to add volume to the product.

For knitting napkins and summer garments, choose cotton, linen (for example, "Iris"). Pay attention to the smoothness and light shine - these qualities of the yarn will give a more beautiful look to your garment. It is good to use mercerized cotton. This is natural cotton, processed under the name "mercerization" (after the name of the inventor John Mercer). Mercerization emphasizes the best properties of cotton and reduces its imperfections, adds shine and strength, products from such yarn are less wrinkled.

For knitting baby clothes, it is better to use special baby yarn. The composition of this yarn includes: camel wool, cotton, acrylic, polyamide, viscose, fiber, merino. Depending on the percentage of the incoming components, children's yarn has varieties. The most famous: Baby color, Baby, Bambino, Children's whim, Tiny. These threads are soft, do not cause allergies, they have different bright and pastel shades.
