Handmade jewelry today is very popular compared to factory jewelry - handmade products make you more original, brighter, and also allow you to create your own unique style. You can not only wear ready-made jewelry made by other craftsmen, but also craft your own - and here you can use a simple technique of tying a sliding knot, which is necessary if you want to make handmade beads and necklaces.

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare a cotton or satin cord of the desired color, on which the elements of future beads are already strung. The length of the cord should be up to a meter, and it is easiest to tie such knots on waxed cotton cords, as they do not slip and the knots are strong.

Step 2

Direct the ends of the cord towards each other so that each tail of the cord is 15 cm long. Fold the right part of the cord into a loop about 10 cm, placing the end of the cord at the edge, and then wrap the cords with a tail, making several turns, directing them away from you, and laying the turns tightly to each other.

Step 3

It is enough to make three turns, holding them with your fingers, so that the cord does not relax. Pull the end of the cord with which you wrapped the main cord into the loop and tighten the knot carefully. While tightening the knot, pull both ends of the cord at the same time.

Step 4

At the same time, check if the knot can move along the cord - it must be tightened tightly so that it does not bloom later, but not excessively, otherwise, it will not slide. Having tied the first knot, proceed to tying the second.

Step 5

The second knot is knitted in the same way as the first - make a loop out of the cord, wrap the tail several times around the cord and pass it through the loop and tighten the knot. Determine the place where you will knit the second knot depending on how you will wear the beads, and how much distance should separate both knots from each other.

Step 6

Measure the length of the resulting beads and check if they fit freely over your head and if the knots slide along the cord. If the length of the beads suits you, fix the knots by dripping a drop of super glue on them. Cut off the excess ends of the cord and also fix the cuts with glue.
