Initially, shirt fronts were exclusively male wardrobe items. Nowadays, this thing is universal and very comfortable - it can easily replace both a scarf and a turtleneck, it will warm the most vulnerable places - the neck and throat. Caring and attentive wives are able to knit this useful wardrobe item for their beloved men themselves.
It is necessary
- - 200 g of 100% acrylic yarn (100g / 350m);
- - straight knitting needles No. 4, 5;
- - circular knitting needles # 4;
- - hook number 4 or darning needle for the final connection of parts.
Instructions
Step 1
Determine which shirt you want to knit. If it will be worn in spring or autumn, then it is better to take thinner yarn so that the finished product is more “compact”. Winter options involve using thicker threads. Hook and knitting needles are selected depending on the thickness of the yarn.
Step 2
When knitting a shirt front in the male version, it is recommended to select strict monochromatic colors and restrained straight patterns. Knitting patterns used:
- elastic: alternate knit 1 and purl 1.
- pearl pattern: knit 1 knit and 1 purl alternately. In each next row, shift the pattern by one loop.
- Garter stitch: knit all knit stitches in the knit and purl rows.
Step 3
Perform the work in the order presented below.
Back. Cast on 72 loops on the needles and knit 8 rows with a pearl pattern, this is 3.5 cm for the plank. Then knit in this order: hem, 5 loops pearl pattern, 60 loops of garter stitch, 5 loops pearl pattern, hem. After 20 cm from the beginning of knitting, make out the shoulder bevel: first close 11 loops on both sides, then another 12 loops through the row. Through a row, close the 26 remaining loops for the neckline.
Step 4
Before. Knit the fabric like a back, but arrange a round neckline for the neck: after 20 cm from the beginning of knitting, close the middle 12 loops. Then knit both sides separately. From the inner edges, to round the cut, close three loops once, two loops once, and one loop twice in every second row. Begin to knit the shoulder bevels of the outer edge after the fourth round of rounding the neckline.
Step 5
Assembly. Along the edge of the neck, cast on 76 loops on the circular knitting needles and knit with an elastic band 14 cm, then close the loops freely according to the pattern.
Step 6
Final processing of the product. Lightly steam the finished product with a hot iron through wet cheesecloth, giving the product the desired shape, and let the shirt front dry. Fold back the collar.
