In books and magazines on knitting, very often, instead of detailed descriptions, you have to see drawing schemes. In old editions there is another name - "rapport" or "rapportichka". The ability to read such diagrams can significantly reduce the development of a new drawing.
It is necessary
- Knitting needles number 2
- Wool or cotton thread of medium thickness
- Drawing schemes
Instructions
Step 1
Remember the legend. They may be different, but at the beginning of each journal, the ones that are accepted in that edition are usually given. The most common:
I - front loop
_ - purl loop
o - yarn
The front loop can also be indicated by an empty cell. Knitting several loops from one is indicated by a checkmark with the corresponding number on top.
Step 2
Count according to the diagram how many loops you need to dial for a sample pattern. Add to this number 2 edge loops, which are not taken into account in the description of the figure and in the diagram.
Step 3
Cast on the 2 knitting needles folded together the desired number of loops in the usual way. Pull out one knitting needle and knit a row.
Step 4
Turn the work over, remove the edge loop and knit the first row according to the pattern. Turn the work over, remove the edge loop and knit the second row according to the picture or as indicated in the annotation to the scheme. Work like this until the end of the rapport. Close the hinges.
Step 5
Steam the sample, if the drawing allows it, calculate the number of loops and calculate the number of loops required for the product. Do not forget that this number minus two edge loops should be divided without a remainder by the number of loops that you typed for the sample.
