It is necessary

  • - aluminum billets;
  • - skin stripes;
  • - plastic for rings;
  • - metal blanks for tips;
  • - drill;
  • - hacksaw for metal.

Instructions

Step 1

Pole material should be lightweight and durable. Purchased poles are made of carbon or plastic. But for self-production, an aluminum alloy is quite suitable.

Step 2

First you need to decide on the length of the sticks. Calculate it as follows: subtract 25-30 cm from your height. This is the ideal length for classic skiing. For a skate step, longer poles are needed, only 15 centimeters less than your height.

Step 3

Take a cylindrical aluminum, measure the required length and saw off two blanks with a hacksaw for metal.

Step 4

Now drill holes in each stick. They will be needed in order to push the ends of the loops into them. Hand loops are best made from scrap leather or synthetic fabric. Cut strips from the prepared material, up to 3 cm wide. Trying on a loop on your hand, determine its length. Keep in mind that when moving, your hand should rest on the loop, and not on the stick itself. Remember to add 4cm per knot. Slip the prepared loops into the hole, one end at a time and tie it in a knot so that it does not slip into this hole.

Step 5

Then move on to making pens. They are also made from a variety of materials. It can be cork, plastic, leather. It's best if you pick up material that won't slip on hand. It is also necessary to consider the convenience of the handles. Make them slightly widened upward so that you can safely lean on the handle in moments of rest. At the bottom of the handle, make a small shoulder to help relieve some of the load from your hand.

Step 6

Now make two small holes at the bottom of the stick. Here you will attach the foot support ring. It is necessary so that your stick does not fall into the snow. These rings can be removed from old broken sticks or cut into a circle from any plastic. The universal foot diameter is 60-70 cm. Fix them at a height of 5-7 cm from the bottom of the stick.

Step 7

It remains to pick up the tip for the stick. In their shape, they are conical and in the form of an inverse cone. If you intend to go down ice slopes, then cut out the tip in the form of a jagged crown. Insert the blank into the hollow stick and that's it - your design is ready.
