From early childhood, we are familiar with such a wardrobe item as mittens. It's a paradox, but after the end of the winter season, they always remain one of the set. I have to buy new ones. If you have free time, you can knit several pairs of identical mittens for your children, let them lose their health.

60 g to 130 g brightly colored wool yarn and five knitting needles
Instructions
Step 1
Work a pattern 10 cm wide and up to 20 stitches in a row. Define a pattern familiar to you in execution. Iron through a damp cloth and wait until dry.
Measure its width with a centimeter and count the number of loops in the row. Average ratio: per 10 cm of the product, the number of loops is about 25. The number of the circumference of the hand is 18 cm. Multiply 18 by 2.5 (this is the number of loops in width divided by the width in centimeters). In our example, it turned out to be 45.
Step 2
Recommended cuff length is 5 to 8 cm. Cast on 45 stitches on two needles, then pull out one of them. Perform the first row with the knit ones, distributing 10 loops on each of the knitting needles.
In order not to get lost, mark the beginning of work with an auxiliary thread. Knit in one direction, preferably around the outside of the circle.
With the selected pattern, make about 8 cm to the beginning of the wrist. Then another 5 cm from the wrist to the base of the thumb.
Step 3
Take the extra two knitting needles to start working on the thumb hole. The width of the circle should be 2 times less than the number of loops on one of the needles, in our example it is 8. Remove the loops of the thumb with a wide pin. Cast on eight stitches on the knitting needle and continue working.
Try a mitten on your hand and adjust the number of loops as you work.
Step 4
Knit up to the little finger and start shaping the toe. For its beautiful shape, on the 1st and 3rd knitting needles, the initial two loops, on the 2nd and 4th knitting needles - knit the last two together. Keep the tilt in the first case to the right, and in the second - to the left. You will get a corner with a kind of braids from the front loops going towards each other. Decrease in the process of knitting one loop in a row. When you have 2 stitches left, join the work together and close the stitches. Break off the thread. Crochet the end to the wrong side and secure it.
The edges of the mittens can be decorated with scallops.
