Felt is a wonderful material with which you can create wonderful things: children's educational toys, Christmas tree decorations, rattles, use it for applications and any other purposes. Felt does not crumble during cutting, so there is no need to process the edge when making products. This is why felt is such a simple and irreplaceable creative material!
It is necessary
- Felt of different colors
- Scissors
- Needle
- Floss threads
- Safety pins
- Beads
- Crayon or pencil
- Padded material (for example, synthetic fluff)
Instructions
Step 1
We start with a pattern. You can draw a pattern yourself on a sheet of paper and cut it out, you can find it on the Internet, print it on a printer, or you can copy it from a computer monitor. Cut out the pattern you like and pin it with pins to the felt.
Step 2
Cut out two parts. If your felt has a pronounced face and wrong side, then you need to cut out two mirror parts, if the felt has a homogeneous structure, then we just cut out two identical parts.
Step 3
Cut out the details of the eyes and fins from felt of a different color. We outline the head and mouth with a pencil, crayon or special disappearing marker for fabric.
Step 4
Thread a floss with a seam back to the needle designate the contour of the head and the "smile" of our fish.
Step 5
Sew on fins and eyes. You can first completely decorate one detail, then the second. Personally, I go through every step with both details at once. So they turn out to be the same as possible.
Step 6
You can add beads along the contour of the fish's head for beauty. But this is optional.
Step 7
Then we put both parts together, pin them off with pins and begin to sew with an edge seam ("seam over the edge"), gradually stuffing the toy with synthetic fluff. If you plan to hang the toy, you can make and sew a string. I just weaved a pigtail from floss threads.
Step 8
The fish is ready!
