Drawing vegetables is a great workout for aspiring artists. Smooth roots do not require detailed drawing, but you will have to try to make them look alive and voluminous. Try painting a bunch of carrots in watercolor.

Instructions
Step 1
Select a song. If you want to draw several carrots tied into a bunch, place it diagonally. Use a pencil to outline the outline of the composition. Young vegetables are relatively thin, carrots are usually pointed and end with elongated roots of a lighter tone.
Step 2
Dip a wide, soft brush in water and apply to a piece of paper, covering it all over. Let the moisture dry a little. On a plastic palette, mix yellow, white and brown paints, a little drop of black. Apply paint with broad strokes on the sheet, bypassing the contours of the drawing. Add more water to make the color more washed out. When finished with the background, dry the paint.
Step 3
Start drawing carrots. Mix red and yellow paints on a palette, add white to get a rich orange hue of young vegetables. Carefully paint over the roots. Add white paint to the palette, mix it with the main tone until you get a lighter shade. Cover the bottom of the carrots and long roots with it. Dry the drawing.
Step 4
Dip a thin brush in light brown watercolor and apply light cross-strokes and dots on the carrots, simulating the uneven surface of the root vegetables. Mix yellow, red and brown paints and apply shadows where the carrots are in contact with the table surface.
Step 5
Dip a wet paintbrush in white paint and mark the highlights on the convex top of the carrots. Blend the white with a wet brush for smoother color transitions. Mix the green with the white and paint the haulm in the back of the picture. You don't need to paint it - just mark a blurry spot of color.
Step 6
Mix yellow and brown paint with a drop of black and use a wide brush to place the shadows at the bottom of the picture, just below the root vegetable. Add some water - the shadows should be soft. With a thin brush, carefully trace the contours of the carrots - the paint will lie on wet paper a little blurry.
Step 7
Examine the drawing, if desired, add shadows or light spots that give the roots volume. If the colors seem too bright to you, tone them down by placing a thin layer of white on top. Use a well-dampened brush - it will give the picture transparency.
