Making flowers from scrap materials is becoming an increasingly popular hobby. Bouquets made of polymer for modeling, beads and ribbons are used to decorate the interior; such buds are used in homemade jewelry. However, there is material that allows you to make very beautiful flowers, and it is literally under your feet. More precisely on them, because these are nylon tights.
Nylon flowers: necessary materials
To create a rose from nylon, you must first select the appropriate tights. They should not be too tight, but very elastic. In addition, the weaving of threads should not be rare, so cheap footboards are not suitable for this purpose. You should also pay attention to the shine of the material. In order for a nylon rose to resemble a real flower as much as possible, it is better to give preference to thin matte tights. As for the color of nylon, of course, it is better to use light colors for crafts, and if necessary, the finished petals can be painted with a colored aerosol for nubuck and suede.
In addition to nylon tights, you will need wire to create artificial roses. It is on it that the material will be pulled when forming the petals. In order for the bud to be as similar as possible to a real one, it is important that the wire is plastic, but rather rigid. If it does not keep its shape, then over time the bud will "fade", and too elastic metal will make all the petals equally round.
Also, for making flowers from nylon tights, you will need pliers, matching threads, a needle, green felt or fleece to create sepals, and glue.
Nylon rose: petals
In order for a nylon rose to be not just an abstract bud, but to look exactly like a queen of flowers, it is necessary to make a sufficient number of petals. For a medium-sized product, 12-15 is enough. Start by creating wire blanks. Form a ring of sufficient diameter, connect the ends and twist them, cut off the excess with pliers.
Place the upper part of the workpiece in the middle of a small nylon flap, pull the edges of the material to the wire junction. Gather the fabric with a basting stitch so that it snugly wraps around the frame, but does not sag. Fasten the thread, give the petal a natural shape, tint the nylon if necessary. Remove excess material with scissors.
Assembling petals from pantyhose into a bud
When all the petals are ready, you need to collect them into a beautiful bud. To do this, start with the smaller ones, they need to be twisted quite tightly. Add new petals to the structure one by one so that each subsequent one encloses the previous ones. Use a real rose as an illustrative example. Fasten the petals of the buds with a thread, use glue if necessary. To hide the seams or edges of the nylon, cut the sepals out of the dense green material and glue them to the base of the flower. Spread out the petals.
