Instructions
Step 1
Most often, there are 2 types of batik. To change white things, first prepare the background. Pour water into a jar or glass, add a small amount of paint there, stir. Dye the fabric with the solution. Leave the item to dry completely.
Step 2
Then randomly fold the dyed fabric. Make tight knots in different places of things and tie them with twine or other strong threads.
Step 3
Now completely wet the entire fabric with water, squeeze well. Use brushes to apply other colors to damp areas. It is best to choose shades of darker colors than the background. You can also try to make up colors - mix any paint colors.
Step 4
After you've finished staining, let the garment dry completely. To do this, you can use a hairdryer. Then carefully remove the knots, threads with which you tied the fabric. These places will remain unpainted, due to which the thing will have a unique pattern. Iron the wrong side of the garment with an iron to set the dye to the fabric.
Step 5
Try another method of painting on fabric as well. This type of batik is especially suitable for creating silk scarves and shawls. Select the pattern you would like to paint on the fabric.
Step 6
Pin the fabric to the wooden frame. Make sure the material is evenly tensioned.
Step 7
Place the design under the fabric and trace around it with a pencil on the front of the garment. The contour lines should be barely visible.
Step 8
Then, using a pipette or a special tube, apply a reserve along the contour of the drawing. Trace the image slowly so that the product passes through the fibers of the material and there are no smudges. The contour must be closed, otherwise the paint will flow out.
Step 9
Now on a palette or in a jar, dilute the paints with water. Do not paint the whole drawing at once, but in parts so that the paint on the fabric does not mix.
Step 10
First paint over the small details (petals, flower stamens). Dry the fabric with a hair dryer.
Step 11
Moisten other parts of the drawing with water using a larger brush. Then color in these areas. Dry them again with a hairdryer. Then continue with the rest of the image.
Step 12
After you finish applying the paint, let the fabric dry, then remove it from the frame and iron it on the wrong side of the iron.
