Due to the widespread increase in the speed of traffic exchange in digital data transmission channels, voice and video communication via the Internet has now become available to most users. Fortunately, there are applications that you can use to record a video chat.

Step 1
Launch the client software for video communication. Enter your credentials if required. Wait for the end of the process of connecting to the server.
Step 2
Activate the video conferencing mode. Select the required contact from the list, or add a new one. If you need to call a subscriber to display the video interface, do so.
Step 3
Launch Fraps video capture software. After starting the program window can be minimized. If so, expand it by clicking on the icon in the system tray. The program window is automatically minimized at start if during previous launches the "Start Fraps minumized" switch was activated on the General tab.
Step 4
Configure the settings for displaying auxiliary information when recording video chat. In the Fraps window, switch to the "FPS" tab. Click on the "Overlay Display Hotkey" field. Press the key combination that will be used to change the position of the indicator of the current frame rate of the captured video and turn it off. Click on the "Disable" button next to the "Benchmarking Hotkey" field.
Step 5
Configure video capture settings. Go to the "Movies" tab. Click on the "Change" button. It is located to the right of the "Folder to save movies in" label. A folder selection dialog will appear. Specify the directory where the video will be saved. Click on the "Video Capture Hotkey" field. Press the keyboard shortcut that will start and stop recording. Activate the "Full Size" switch. Enter a value for the video frame rate, or select a suitable predefined value by activating one of the "… fps" switches.
Step 6
Record a video chat. Minimize the Fraps window. Switch to the video chat window. Press the keyboard shortcut you defined in the previous step. Video recording starts. If necessary, press the key combination defined in step four several times to clear the digital FPS indicator output. Have a video session. When finished, press the keyboard shortcut to stop capturing video.
