The desire to experiment with boring clothes periodically visits almost every fashionista - it is very tempting to get a new, and even exclusive thing for free. In order to breathe life into old trousers or a dress, it is not at all necessary to be able to sew well, it is much more important that you have rich imagination, design courage and good taste. If you have all this, then you can easily, for example, make a skirt from trousers.
It is necessary
- You will need:
- - unnecessary jeans;
- - a piece of fabric;
- - threads;
- - needles;
- - sewing machine;
- - scissors;
- - fine yarn;
- - Crochet hook.
Instructions
Step 1
A skirt made of denim trousers can be very effective. Denim is good because it can be combined with many materials and shades. However, it is also possible to alter any other trousers. For example, make a romantic flounced skirt. To do this, take your old jeans and lay them out on the table. Next, cut off the top of the pants so as to maintain the length as much as possible, that is, most likely, you will cut a cut slightly below the jeans fastener. Try on the detail and determine how long you would like to make the skirt. It can be either very short or long. Measure the length of the future product from the edge of the jeans.
Step 2
From a light flowing fabric (for example, silk), cut out a strip of the sizes you need: if you want to sew a short skirt, then cut one strip with a width equal to your measurement plus a seam allowance. Stripe length - twice the length of the bottom edge of the jeans around the entire circumference.
Step 3
Finish the bottom edge of the denim by bending it slightly inward and sweeping it in by hand. Now take the cut strip and manually sweep it to the wrong side of the part, starting from the side seam, making gathers at the same distance from each other. Sew the side edges of the fabric together, thereby closing the shuttlecock. Try on a skirt - if you are satisfied with the result, carefully sew the seams on a typewriter and bend the bottom edge of the skirt so that the fabric does not split and the threads do not come out of it.
Step 4
If you want to make the skirt longer, you can cut out several strips of fabric and sew them to the denim base and to each other in the same way. A wide belt can be cut out of the same fabric, which can be inserted instead of a belt and tied in a knot at the side.
Step 5
You can make a skirt out of trousers in a slightly different way. If you know how to crochet, just tie the bottom of your future skirt and then sew it to the top of your pants.
Step 6
There is also a more laborious option for making a skirt, as a result, it will turn out to be straight. Cut the trousers as follows: cut the leg to the length you want, and then cut the inside seam along the rounded line, leaving the outside of the leg and waistband intact. From a contrasting lightweight fabric, cut out several rather narrow stripes with which you will need to fill the void formed in the center. You can sew on the fabric with shuttlecocks, as in previous cases, or in even stripes: one after the other, gradually lengthening the part. This will create a straight skirt with fabric inserts in the center at the back and front.
