Beading is one of the most beautiful types of needlework that first appeared in Japan in 200 BC. Beads (beads) are made of glass and have small holes. They are of different types: simple, felling, bohemian and bugles, they also distinguish between transparent and opaque.
Weaving from beads of various jewelry, flowers, animals has become a favorite hobby for many. After all, this requires only beads, fishing line and a desire to create something. Today, many people have begun to receive not only pleasure from this, but also good earnings. Since a little money is spent on raw materials, and bead crafts are expensive, and the demand for them is great.
So what does it take to turn your favorite hobby into rewarding work that generates income? You need to buy the following things:
- kits for beading;
- machine for beading.
And start trying, making crafts.
You can work in several directions:
- beading choker and necklaces, bracelets and so on;
- beading of animals, birds and other living creatures;
- beading of crafts for the interior.
There are several types and techniques of beading, the pattern and strength of the product being made depend on them. The main ones are:
- openwork weaving;
- tapestry weaving (hand weaving);
- weaving on a loom;
- frill;
- brick weaving;
- mosaic weaving;
- monastery weaving (in a cross);
- ndebele;
- staggered;
- Petersburg weaving;
- American (spiral plait);
- square cord;
- crochet harness;

Of course, beading is a very painstaking hobby that requires patience and endurance. Fortunately, now on the Internet there are a lot of pictures, video lessons teaching how to weave with beads correctly. So, the main thing is not to be afraid and not to be lazy.
A good example is the story of Lisa Lu, who creates unique masterpieces from beads. In 1996 she showed her first work entitled "Kitchen". She literally weaved a kitchen of the usual scale from beads. Every little detail, every millimeter is covered with glass beads. In 2002, for her masterpiece, Lisa Lou received a grand called "Genius". Her work is now rated very highly, but for Lisa Lou, beading is more of a hobby than a desire to make money.
An interesting fact is that not only girls and women are engaged in beading, but also men. Their work is somewhat different from that of the female. This is due to the fact that men have a different way of thinking and perception of life. When comparing the work of men and women, it is difficult to say which of them is better, since both options are distinguished by originality and talent.
In Russia (then still in Kievan Rus), the first workshops for working with glass appeared in the eleventh century, but due to constant wars, Russian masters temporarily suspended their work. A little later M. V. Lomonosov wrote a poem "A Letter on the Use of Glass", where he informs about the necessity and benefits of glass production, about the prospect of obtaining many objects from glass. And he was right. Both household items and masterpieces for the soul are made of glass. There are also beads among them.
Over the years, the hobby has improved and has embraced all corners of the earth. In different cities, in different countries, around the world, exhibitions of beads are open, where people can show their works: necklaces, bracelets, rings, flowers, animals, insects, trees, even whole compositional paintings made of beads. All of them are striking in their uniqueness and diversity.
