Instructions
Step 1
Cooking salt dough. Take a deep dish and pour water into it. Pour in salt and mix well. Stir the water, pouring flour into it. Beat the ingredients with a mixer until you get a homogeneous consistency. If you do not plan to start modeling immediately, put the dough in a sealed vacuum package. It dries quickly from the air.
Step 2
Start sculpting. Add vegetable oil or hand cream to the dough to prevent the mixture from sticking to your fingers. Sculpt the figures directly on the plane on which you will bake them. Roll the dough into a shape that looks like a chicken egg. Pull one side of it and make it sharper. This is the muzzle of a hedgehog. From the "back" begin to pull the needles. First sculpt them with your fingers, creating an even pattern, then work each needle with a plasticine knife or other flat thin object. The needles should be straight and smooth. Pay attention to the tips of the needles: either make them sharp, or chop off the tips to create flat surfaces. If it is difficult to sculpt needles, just stick matches into the hedgehog. On the side opposite to the muzzle, "pinch" the dough and make a small tail. The nose, eyes and ears can be squeezed out with a plasticine knife. Or you can roll up small balls and carefully "glue" them to the dough. After baking, they will tightly connect to the muzzle. It is not necessary to sculpt the paws on the craft. If desired, make 4 legs by pinching the dough in the same way as for the tail. Check if the hedgehog is stable.
Step 3
Place the craft on a baking sheet and place in the oven. Dry the hedgehog for an hour at 80 ° C.
Step 4
When the hedgehog is dry and cool, paint it with gouache.
