Dough plastic, or salt dough modeling, is a very popular type of creativity. The cheapness and environmental friendliness of the material, ease of use and certainly excellent results make this activity affordable and attractive for children and adults. From salted dough, you can create both volumetric figures and planar compositions, a kind of relief paintings. For example, a basket of salted dough flowers is a great motif for your craft. The key to successful work is the "correct" recipe for the dough and knowledge of the characteristics of the material.
It is necessary
- - 2 cups of flour;
- - 1 glass of fine table salt;
- - 250 ml of cold water;
- - 2 tbsp. l. vegetable oil;
- - 1-2 tbsp. l. glue for wallpaper.
Instructions
Step 1
Knead the flour, salt and water into a dough. While mixing, carefully add water to the bowl with the dough. Also add wallpaper glue and vegetable oil. The criterion for the readiness of the dough is its good plasticity and lack of stickiness. If the dough sticks to your hands, add more flour to it.
Step 2
Divide the dough into several parts, each of which is painted in whatever colors you need to create different colors: red, pink, yellow, blue, green, etc. To do this, add food coloring (or gouache) to the dough and mix thoroughly until a uniform color is obtained. The dough should not be made too bright, since the dye disturbs the structure of the mixture.
Step 3
Start sculpting flowers. Different types imply different shapes of petals, but almost all of them are based on a round cake of the right size, made from a ball. To make many blanks for petals of the same color at once, roll a long sausage out of the dough and cut it into small pieces with a special sculpting tool (stack). Roll them into balls and flatten them between your fingers.
Step 4
The resulting cakes can be laid out in the form of a simple flower, without giving them any special shape. Stick a few round petals around the center cake, wetting the joints with water and pressing lightly.
Step 5
To make a different kind of flower, give the dough cakes a more distinctive, elongated petal shape. To do this, pinch the workpiece on one side with two fingers. You can do this on both sides so that the petals are pointed. Glue the petals to the core or to each other by wetting them with a wet brush at the bonding points.
Step 6
Make roses from round petals of different sizes. Pull the first blank into a strip and roll it up with a roll or funnel, and wrap the rest of the petals around it, shifting them relative to each other according to the principle of a pink bud or a blossoming rose.
Step 7
The second version of the rose. Superimpose round petals of different diameters one on top of the other from larger to smaller, offsetting them horizontally by about half. Cut this structure in half lengthwise. Starting with the smallest petal, roll it into a funnel
Step 8
Small flowers can be made from a whole cake. Make notches on it along the edges according to the number of petals and pierce the flower in the center with a toothpick.
Step 9
Fluffy flower greens can be made with dough passed through a garlic press. The leaves are molded by analogy with the manufacture of petals, the stems are made of dough rolled into thin tubes.
Step 10
After combining all the elements into one composition, dry the craft. It is best to keep it in a dry place at room temperature for a few days. But if there is no time to wait, then you can dry it in an oven heated to 80 degrees. Cover the dried product with varnish to protect it from moisture and other adverse external influences.
