A stitch stitch is the simplest of all stitches that are used in embroidery, but can be used to create an independent pattern or in combination with other types of stitches. It is with him that they begin teaching children this type of needlework.
It is necessary

Instructions
Step 1
Wash the fabric you want to embroider on. This will prevent shrinkage of the material after the first wash and deformation of the pattern. Use cotton or linen as the base fabric, cross stitch canvas is not suitable for stitching.
Step 2
Draw on the fabric with a regular pencil the outline of the motive you are going to embroider. A motif with clear borders is ideal for stitching work.
Step 3
Hoop the fabric so that the pattern will lie flat and the thread will not pull over the fabric.
Step 4
Fasten a knot on the thread, enter from the wrong side to the front. Choose a stitch size, it depends on the thickness of the thread, stitches that are 4 times longer than the width look especially beautiful.
Step 5
Insert the needle from the front side to the wrong side, at the same time turn the needle in the direction of the reverse stitch line, pierce the fabric with the tip of the needle at a distance of 2-3 mm from the end of the first stitch and bring the needle out to the right side. Make sure the second stitch starts very close to the first. Insert and withdraw the needle again in one motion, pull up the thread. It is most convenient to lay the seam from left to right.
Step 6
Make sure that all stitches are the same length, and the beginning of the next one is always located to the right (or strictly to the left) of the previous one, if you change the position, the laid seam will look sloppy.
Step 7
Use a stem stitch to outline the embroidery detail. You can also "fill" space with them within a specific part of the picture, for example, a flower petal or leaf. For this, several parallel lines are laid at a very close distance from each other. In this case, the stitches should be equal to each other, not only within the same line, but also in comparison with adjacent seams.
