Satin stitch embroidery of various inscriptions is a long-standing tradition. You can embroider the signature to the picture, the inscription on the napkin, which you decided to present for the anniversary. Previously, laundry was often marked this way. True, in this case, usually not a name is embroidered, but only initials. The lettering can be the simplest, legible type. But some of the embroidered lettering is a separate piece of art.
It is necessary
- - fabric for embroidery;
- - embroidery hoop;
- - a computer with a printer;
- - tracing paper;
- - carbon copy;
- - needles;
- - floss threads;
- - a set of fonts.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose a suitable font. It should be easy to read, but at the same time elegant enough. It can be either typeface or italics. You can use different kinds of special fonts, such as Gothic or Charter. Now you can find any font on the Internet. Enlarge the image to the size you need and print.
Step 2
On the tracing paper, mark the area corresponding to the size of the future inscription. If you are going to "inscribe" a name into the pattern, it's time to draw it. You can use traditional elements of the surface - leaves, donuts, and the like. First draw a pattern around the name, and then sketch out the inscription in any letters, just to outline the places. Translate the letters to the marked places. Capital letters are optional in the embroidered name. Use carbon paper to transfer the name onto the fabric.
Step 3
For embroidery of inscriptions and monograms, double-sided satin stitch is most suitable. If the name is surrounded by a pattern, embroider it first. Begin to embroider the name itself from the bottom of the first letter. Do not tie a knot, sew a few stitches along the center line of the letter and leave the end of the thread on the right side. You will close it with stitches. In one of the lower corners of the letter, bring the needle to the right side, pull the thread, then insert the needle in the other corner of the same line of the letter. Pull the thread so that the stitch is not too tight. Re-insert the needle near where you started the first stitch, 1-2 strands from it. Pull out the thread and re-insert the needle near the end of the first stitch. In this way, embroider the entire element.
Step 4
If the letters are interconnected, stitch them tightly. If the letters or even their individual elements are not connected, start each element in the same way as you embroidered the first. Delicates, curls, etc. Can be sewn with a stem stitch. When you have finished embroidering, hide the end of the thread under the stitches without tying a knot.
