Summer has come, which means it's time to start a boat and go fishing. But what if she's not there? The answer is simple - to build a small personal ship for 1-2 passages. To prevent the boat from becoming the Titanic, you need to take a responsible approach to business and follow a series of instructions.
Instructions
Step 1
Do not use the material at hand. Material for a homemade motor boat must meet a number of indicators. It should be durable, lightweight, and preferably not expensive. Based on these criteria, you can buy either durable plastic or not very thick metal. The advantage of the first is that if you break the case, it can be easily repaired by melting a piece of the same plastic into a crack. The advantage of metal is that it will be much more difficult to make a hole in it.
Step 2
Prepare for a trip to the building supplies store. If you choose plastic, you will need a welder to shape the sheets and spare parts to mount the motor. If you settled on a metal case, you should, in addition to the mounting bolts, buy a sealant to seal the bonding points. If you save on sealant, then a homemade boat with a 90% probability will go to the bottom.
Step 3
Pick up the motor. It can be a new outboard motor with ready-made blades or a used engine bought at a flea market from a scooter, moped and even a lawn mower. When assembling homemade blades, be careful with a test run of the engine. Using too many turns can injure your hands or head.
Step 4
Build your boat. With the steel version, everything is quite simple. Bend the foxes in the center to create a two-meter oval. the sheets are stacked on top of each other and bolted together. Make holes for the bolts with a conventional drill. After that, go through the bonding points with a sealant.
Step 5
The plastic version is more demanding to work. The folds will have to be corrected and connected to the side parts and the bottom using a welding machine as well.
Step 6
When installing the engine, make sure that the cavities do not touch the bottom of the boat. If the engine is not originally intended for "water procedures", make a protection for it from polyethylene or other similar material.
Step 7
And most importantly, remember about safety, do not overload the boat and do not go sailing without a preliminary test drive. For the rest, all that remains is to wish you a successful voyage.
