You need a boat for walking on a lake, river or fishing, but often there is no money to buy a manufactured product. In this case, making a small boat from plastic bottles on your own can be a good solution.
It is necessary
- - large quantities of plastic bottles (preferably large);
- - a sharp knife or large scissors;
- - a coil of thin and strong wire;
- - wide water-resistant adhesive tape for fastening bottles;
- - cross members made of thick plywood, light pipes or wooden planks;
- - polyethylene;
- - material for the final finishing of a plastic boat.

Step 1
Of course, you can make a boat out of plywood with your own hands. However, in this case, you will have to spend more money on the necessary materials. But most importantly, to create such a craft, you need to have certain skills, and also have quite a lot of time in stock. If you make a mistake in the calculations, all the work will be done in vain.
Step 2
It is much easier to construct a boat out of plastic bottles than a wooden one, while significant costs are not required. The main thing is to get large quantities of plastic bottles somewhere. Where can I get them? - You can collect them for a while, ask friends, put a collection box in a crowded place, and so on. In other words, be resourceful.
Step 3
So, you can move on to the next stage - preparing plastic bottles for use. They need to be washed well, cleaned from stickers and from the glue itself, using a solvent if necessary. After that, the bottles should be filled with pressurized air so that the products do not deform.
Step 4
Place plastic bottles in the freezer. When they are filled with cold air, screw them back on. When the bottles are removed from the freezer, the air will expand into the heat, so that they will no longer undergo deformation. When all these procedures are done, put the bottle caps on the glue. It is advisable that the adhesive is waterproof, then your plastic boat will become much more reliable.
Step 5
Now you need to collect plastic containers in a kind of "logs". Fasten the first two bottles with bottoms, while the protrusions of one of them should be connected to the grooves of the other. To connect them, use the third bottle, pulling its frame over the two previous ones. Connect the joints of the containers with several layers of adhesive tape. You can also use some kind of waterproof glue that is suitable for plastic. This will increase the strength and reliability of your product.
Step 6
As a result, you have a fragment of a log from bottles. Now take two more containers and cut off the necks from them. Place these parts tightly on the workpiece, then grease with glue and roll with tape. The result is a workpiece with bottoms at both ends. Attach other bottles to them, holding their bottoms together. The notches of the first bottle should fit into the protrusions of the other.
Step 7
After that, pull the middle part of the other plastic bottle over the resulting joint. Everything sits on the glue and then is washed with waterproof glue. When the individual logs for the plastic boat are ready, fasten them into floats. Roughly, there should be approximately 8 logs in each float. Fasten the logs with wire, tape, polyethylene and glue.
Step 8
From the floats obtained, you can make a plastic boat, raft, catamaran or even a yacht. It all depends on your desire, personal as well as the number of plastic bottles available. The floats are fastened with the help of crossbars, which are made of wooden bars or metal tubes. After that, a bottom made of plastic, thick plywood or metal sheet can be attached to the crossbars.
Step 9
If necessary, a plastic boat can be sheathed, for example, with thick plywood, painted with waterproof paint, and also put a logo on the board.
