At first glance, it may seem that it is almost impossible to sew a tie with your own hands. A very complex structure, an abundance of small details, jewelry work on joining the seams. It seems that only professionals can do it. In fact, it's not all that difficult. You can search for a pattern of a tie on the Internet, and for clarity, open an old unnecessary tie in order to know its structure in detail. Pick up the fabric from which you want to create your masterpiece, and start creating!
Instructions
Step 1
Take a thick canvas, cut it exactly to the pattern of the tie. This canvas is needed to give the tie density and to keep it in shape. If you cannot cut a solid piece, then cut two, and then connect them.
Step 2
Prepare a loop. To do this, cut a strip of fabric 4 cm wide along the oblique line, fold it right side inward, pin it with pins.
Step 3
Place a stitch in the center of the strip.
Step 4
Turn the strip to the right side and iron it.
Step 5
Prepare the tie for further processing. Pin a seam on it. Stitch and iron the seam allowance.
Step 6
Place the linen base into the tie, straighten the corners. Pierce the center with pins to hold the pieces together. Sweep and remove the pins. Draw the lines along which you will sew the tie. Draw the same lines on the canvas.
Step 7
Iron the corners, place a corner from the lining on the right side of the base. Align the corners very clearly. Connect with pins. Now sew from corner to edge of the cut. Take out the pins and iron. Sew the other side of the corner in the same way. Turn right over and iron.
Step 8
Fasten at the base of the edge of the seam allowances with pins, pin the middle with pins with an overhead stitch. Sew it so it is invisible.
Step 9
Sew on the loop to hold the short end inside. To do this, at a distance of about 30 cm from the bottom of the wide side, outline the place where the loop will be located.
Step 10
Sew the buttonhole by hand, gripping only one layer of fabric. Sew one stitch over the buttonhole. This is to prevent the tie from breaking.
Step 11
Fasten the edges of the narrow end of the tie together. Then pin the wide edges together. Your tie is now ready!
