A bow tie is a special piece of men's wardrobe. To use it correctly, it is not enough to have a tuxedo or tailcoat. You also need a sense of style, accuracy and patience. These qualities will come in handy both when buying and tying a ready-made tie, and when sewing it yourself.
It is necessary
Fabric, non-woven fabric, scissors, tailor's chalk, sewing machine, thread, needle
Instructions
Step 1
Choose a fabric for your tie. The main requirement for her is that she must keep her shape. Make a pattern as shown in the diagram.
Step 2
The distance indicated in the diagram with the letter A is 10 cm. Distance B = 25 cm, B = 45 cm (this size varies depending on the neck girth), D = 3.5 cm, D = 8 cm, E = 5 cm.
In accordance with these dimensions, make a pattern for the inner "layer" of the tie - make it from non-woven fabric.
Step 3
Make another pattern for the tie itself: add 0.5 cm to the specified parameters - this is a seam allowance.
Step 4
Lay the fabric on the table, iron and iron it. Pin the pattern to it with pins, circle it with tailor's chalk. Cut out 2 tie blanks (with allowances) and a non-woven lining.
Step 5
Attach the non-woven part to the wrong side of one part (glue side down), iron them with an iron.
Step 6
Fold the pieces right-side in, sweep them by hand, leaving a small section to turn the tie out later. Then sew the workpiece on a sewing machine (especially carefully - in the corners).
Make small cuts in the fabric left as a seam allowance at the rounding points and at the corners.
Step 7
Turn the tie to the right side through the hole left, sew it by hand.
Step 8
Then you can sweep the entire product around the perimeter with threads of a contrasting color, iron it, steam it and leave to dry. Remove the basting threads and iron the tie again.
