Instructions

Step 1

Take sculptural clay, old newspapers, paper, oil or acrylic white, PVA glue, brushes, acrylic paints, as well as wallpaper glue and cling film.

Step 2

Place a large piece of Whatman paper on a flat surface so as not to stain the table or floor, and draw the approximate boundaries of your work in accordance with the desired mask dimensions. Put plasticine on the base sheet and form the shape of the future mask from it.

Step 3

Carefully sculpt the mask, working through its main outlines with plasticine. Having achieved the required rounded and convex shape, cover the mask with cling film and apply diluted wallpaper glue to the film. While the glue is still wet, apply a layer of paper over it.

Step 4

Re-glue the paper with a new layer of glue, then cover the form with several layers of newspaper, torn into small pieces. Coat each layer of newspapers with PVA glue. After you have laid 8-10 layers of newspaper, paste over the future mask with another layer of paper and leave the blank to dry for two days.

Step 5

After two days, remove the dried mask from the film, being careful not to damage it during the disconnection process. Punch holes for the eyes in the right places and sand the edges.

Step 6

Dissolve together PVA glue and white, and then use a soft brush to cover the mask with this composition. Dry it for two hours, and then paint the mask with paints. Open the image of the ANBU mask to exactly repeat its coloring.

Step 7

Draw a V-shaped wedge above the eyes on the forehead of the mask, the lower apex of which should be exactly between the eyes of the mask. On the left and right cheeks, draw two wedges curving upward, resembling tiger stripes. On the central vertical of the mask, exactly in the middle under the eyes, draw a cross to represent the mouth of the mask. The ANBU mask is ready.
