Instructions
Step 1
Make a cardboard blank with a diameter of an outer circle - 5 cm, an inner one - 2.5 cm.
The final size of the pompom will depend on the size of the workpiece. Usually the pompom is 10% larger than the diameter of the workpiece.
Cut out 4 semicircles with elongated tongue ends, making folds at each end of the semicircle to make it easier to fold.
Make 2 smaller semicircles and glue them to the larger halves.
Step 2
Connect two large cardboard boxes together so that there is an inner glued insert between the two large semicircles, through which it is convenient to insert scissors to cut the yarn.
With the help of each pair, consisting of two semicircles, one half of the future pompom is obtained.
Step 3
Draw the future pompom on paper by drawing a circle divided by a line in the center.
Step 4
Wind up the yarn starting from the center and continuing to the outside edge to the fold of the tabs.
Step 5
Make the other half. In this version, the second side of the pompom is pure white, but you can make the same flowers on both sides of the pompom.
Step 6
Fold all the tabs of the workpiece by joining both parts of the pompom together to form a whole ball, securing the tabs with clamps.
Step 7
Use scissors to cut the yarn through the gap between the cardboard boxes.
Step 8
Run the thread between the cartons around the entire circumference of the pom-pom, tighten well and tie a knot, leaving a long end of yarn for hanging or sewing the pom-pom to something.
Remove the clamps and free the pom-pom from the cardboard and trim it slightly with scissors.
