Dried flowers are a good alternative to living plants. They are an excellent decorative material for flower arrangements. To make dried flowers, you need to collect the plants and dry them.

Step 1
You can collect them at any period of plant growth and always in dry weather. Cut some flowers during bud formation to meet your decorative requirements. Remove necessary overripe flowers from seeds.
Step 2
Choose undamaged, fresh and beautiful plants. Remember that red after drying takes on a dark shade, light plants turn yellow. Plants of orange colors retain their color well.
Step 3
The cut stem should be long. When composing, you will be able to crop out the unnecessary part. Peel the plants from excess leaves and tie them into bunches of 10 pieces.
Step 4
Hang them upside down in a well-ventilated area. This drying method is suitable for bush chrysanthemums, lavender and other fragrant herbs that have small inflorescences.
Step 5
Spread large plants in one layer on a dry bed. In this way, it is good to make dried flowers from yarrow, hellebore, peony.
Step 6
If you have planned to create a panel or painting from dried flowers, then during drying, give the plant the necessary shape. Attach them to an unpainted board with tape or string. Place a small piece of paper under the tape. In the future, they will hold well on a flat surface.
Step 7
Plants that have elastic inflorescences and hard stems (decorative cereals), dry in the form of a finished composition.
Step 8
To make the dried flowers light for further coloring, spray them during drying with a puller twice a day. To preserve the natural color, dry in a dark room without spraying.
Step 9
You can dry the stems with buds in a box of sand. Pour dry sand into a container. Lay down the plant and cover it carefully so that the leaves do not wrinkle.
Step 10
Fill in any gaps between the petals with sand. After two weeks, the dried flowers will be ready.
Step 11
Store dried flowers in a cardboard box, shifting with thin paper.
