A wallpaper panel can revive the walls and bring originality to the interior of the room. In fact, a panel is a decorative piece of painting. To create it yourself, you will need to go through several stages.
Dimensions and functionality
A wallpaper panel will add personality to any interior. Wall panels can be made of wallpaper in a neutral color and placed above the sofa or along the entire corridor. It all depends on your imagination.
Using a panel allows you to divide the wall into two parts. Against its background, a picture or a mirror will look great. The sizes of such decorative elements may vary, but the distance between them should be the same. Before you start creating a panel, you need to decide on its location.
Using liquid wallpaper for panels
Liquid wallpaper combines the characteristics of plaster and paper covering. The composition of such wallpapers is dominated by: cotton, cellulose, fungicides, wool fibers, mother-of-pearl and other components.
The surface of liquid wallpaper does not require careful leveling. They fit equally well on horizontal and vertical surfaces. Also, such a material is antistatic and does not allow the formation of fungus, due to the content of fungicides in it.
How to make a panel from liquid wallpaper
First of all, you should prepare the surface. Different materials are used for different types of walls. If you have concrete-lime walls, putty plaster and a deep impregnation primer. You will also need to apply two coats of VDAK white paint. For wood or plywood walls, an alkyd primer and VDAK application will be required. Plasterboard walls, as well as lime walls, require a putty with a similar mixture and the application of water-dispersion acrylic paint.
After the preparation of the area for the panel is completed, apply the selected drawing with a simple pencil. Then you can move on to making the mixture. To do this, pour water into a plastic container and pour wallpaper powder into it, as well as suitable colors. Stir the mixture thoroughly and leave for twelve hours. All ingredients should dissolve well.
Wait until the mixture reaches the desired condition and proceed to create the panel. Using a special plastic trowel, apply the material to the drawing. In this case, its contour must be closed. Gently push the mixture inside the border with a rubber spatula. The material must be applied to adjacent parts of the pattern as it dries. The finished piece will look especially impressive if you add sparkles or beads to it. You can also select the outline with a marker.
