Step 1
For breeding and watering, it is better to use old, dried pigeon droppings. The content of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in this manure is higher than in fresh. When dried, the seeds of weeds contained in the droppings lose their germination, and the droppings themselves are disinfected, getting rid of unnecessary microflora. In order to make a liquid top dressing, the droppings are diluted with water immediately before introduction into the soil, in a ratio of 1:12. It makes no sense to insist and store such a liquid, since it loses half of its nitrogen.
Step 2
Some experts advise against using poultry manure to fertilize indoor potted plants. The reason is that the high content of ammonia in such a solution can damage the plant. A high nitrogen content is also often harmful to plants, especially those sensitive, which are all Gesneriaceae. When watering with diluted pigeon droppings, there are frequent cases of root burning. It is unhygienic to plant this fertilizer in an apartment, and a persistent unpleasant smell coming from the pots can cause headaches and allergies.

Water the plants with a solution of poultry droppings should be done with caution, avoiding liquid getting on the leaves. This can cause illness and fall of foliage. A liquid fertilizer is prepared from poultry manure in the same way as slurry. The proportions can be from 1:10 to 1:12. This fertilizer is used one to three times a month. Some people prefer to mix a small amount of crushed manure into the soil instead of diluting it with water. In this case, there is a danger of the accumulation of droppings in foci, which causes severe burns to the roots. There are frequent cases of rotting of insufficiently dried droppings, and, as a result, plant diseases.
Step 4
In order not to harm the plant with such a serious feeding, you need to know the signs that appear in the pot with an excess of minerals. If, when watering with soft, settled water, a white bloom can still be observed on the surface of the earth, this is a sure sign of an excess of minerals in the soil. If the flower grows slowly in summer, and the tips of the leaves do dry out with sufficient moisture, these are also signs of an excess of minerals. If the leaves wither and fall off, and the stem is fragile and brittle, this most likely indicates the same thing.
Step 5
The lack of minerals manifests itself in the form of slow development, insufficient resistance to diseases and pests. The dying off of the lower leaves and parts of the stem signals a lack of minerals and vitamins. If there is no flowering, and the shoots are too small and fragile, most likely the reason is the same.
