Both the best sewing master and the beginner need a pattern to create a new product. This is a life-size drawing of the product, taking into account all the features of the figure, which is transferred to the fabric.

Instructions
Step 1
To cut a shirt you need a pattern from a fashion magazine. Having chosen the model you like, unfasten the liners with patterns (they are usually located in the middle of the publication), find the outlines of your future product.
Step 2
Take your transparency, place it on top of your drawing, and trace around all the details you need. Most magazines provide a full range of sewing patterns for one model. Therefore, be careful and redraw exactly your size.
Step 3
Cut out the parts transferred to the film.
Step 4
Take a piece of fabric and determine the direction of the lobe and transverse threads. To do this, try pulling the fabric in different directions. The lobe thread is parallel to the edge and practically does not stretch. And the transverse thread stretches much stronger.
Step 5
After determining the thread direction, turn the fabric so that it is right-side down. Place it on a firm, level surface (table or specially equipped platform). Place the cut pieces on the fabric as shown in the illustration. Secure them with pins on the cut so that they do not move in different directions during work.
Step 6
Find chalk, a small bar of soap (if the fabric is dark), or a pencil (if the fabric is light).
Step 7
Take a pencil or chalk and circle the front, back, sleeves and collar parts in turn. Trace the details, keeping in mind the seam allowances. For thin fabrics, allowances are 0.7-1 cm, for dense fabrics - 1.5-2 cm. Allowances are required for any product.
Step 8
Remove all pins from the fabric, unfasten the patterns, and carefully cut out the details of the shirt.
Step 9
If you have an old but tailored shirt that you definitely won't be wearing, you can make a pattern from it. Rip the shirt open at the seams, iron all the details. Then follow the instructions above, but do not make seam allowances. Such a shirt pattern will allow you to exactly copy a proven item that will definitely fit you well.
