Down comforters have always been considered the lightest, warmest and most comfortable. The fillers in them are most often goose or eider down. Down, unlike wool, does not absorb moisture and does not roll at all. These blankets are quite expensive, but this problem can be solved. After spending a few hours of free time, you can sew an original warm duvet.
It is necessary

Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the fluff. A double blanket will require about 1.5 kg of down, a one and a half - just over 1 kg, and a small baby blanket - 0.5 kg. Before stuffing in a blanket, it is advisable to sort out and wash the fluff well. Separate the fluff from thick rods if they come across. Transfer gently to a 2-fold gauze bag and wash in warm, soapy water. Rinse out the lint bag well. Dry the fluff, periodically shaking and stirring, so that it is better straightened.
Step 2
Purchase a fabric for a pillowcase (teak) and a beautiful material for the top of a blanket (satin, satin). The fabric in which the fluff will be placed must be of good quality and fairly dense so that the fluff does not come out. Cut out two cases of the correct size. Note that the quilt will shrink slightly in size. Sew bags from both covers.
Step 3
Place the covers one on top of the other, with the satin on top. On the face of the outer cover, draw transverse and longitudinal lines with chalk (soap). The quilt will be quilted along these lines. The distance between the lines should not be less than 15 cm.
Step 4
Sew the longitudinal lines on the machine. You will end up with a bag with long, narrow pockets. Fill these pockets neatly with fluff. Do this by spreading the covers on a flat surface (large table, floor). You can fill all the pockets with fluff at once and cover up the holes, or fill row after row, sweeping away the transverse lines. In any case, control the even distribution of the filler in the squares. To facilitate the work, you can initially divide all the fluff into an equal number of batches.
Step 5
Quilt the blanket. Once all the fluff is in the cover, spread out the blanket, check if the fluff lies evenly. Make sure there are no blank squares in the blanket. Sew the transverse stripes on the typewriter. Your duvet is ready!
